Honeywell to integrate ImageWare Biometric Identity Management, Secure Credentialing and Card Management Capabilities into its Physical Access Control Products Worldwide
SAN DIEGO, CA, March 7, 2007 - ImageWare® Systems, Inc. (AMEX: IW), a leading developer of identity management solutions, today announced it has signed a three-year, royalty-based, licensing agreement with Honeywell Security. This agreement allows Honeywell to integrate biometric enrollment and identity proofing, as well as card management and issuance of biometrically-enabled secure credentials into its physical access control product suite. This will enable Honeywell to offer complete, end-to-end access control solutions for Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12), Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), border management and other mission-critical environments worldwide. “As a leading provider in the physical access control market, Honeywell is continually focused on providing our global customers with state-of-the art physical access control products.” said John Lorenty, general manager, Honeywell Systems Group. “We believe ImageWare’s open architecture and interoperable technologies will assist Honeywell in meeting the growing demand for biometric identity management, credentialing and card management capabilities in government and other vertical markets, including financial, healthcare and education.” ImageWare’s IWS™ Biometric Engine®, IWS™ EPI™ Builder and IWS EPI Card Management System™ will be integrated into several Honeywell physical access control product families including Pro-Watch®, SmartPlusTM, WIN-PAK®, Vindicator® and LobbyWorks™. “We consider it a privilege to be aligned with one of the world’s most recognized and respected organizations and to be selected to assist them as they biometrically enable their physical access control products around the world,” said Jim Miller, ImageWare’s chairman and CEO. “This agreement represents another milestone in our strategy to pursue licensing and OEM partnerships with market leaders in attractive and large revenue markets.
