ImageWare, as Member of SAIC Team, Awarded Certificate
of Completion for Homeland Security Presidential Directive Vendor Evaluation
San Diego, CA, Dec. 4, 2007–ImageWare Systems, as a member of the Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) team, which also includes Novell Inc., Honeywell, and ActivIdentity, Inc., was awarded a certificate of completion for Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD-12) Vendor Evaluation.
To receive the certification, the SAIC team was evaluated by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) in activation and finalization, card management and production, enrollment and registration, systems infrastructure, and systems integration for personal identification verification.
"This certification follows on the GSA's approval of our secure credential software on the approved product listing as part of the GSA's FIPS 201 Evaluation Program and further validates the exceptional capabilities our technology provides as HSPD-12 becomes a reality," said Jim Miller, ImageWare's chairman and CEO. "As a member of SAIC's team, ImageWare looks forward to providing its clients with the highest quality of products and services."
On August 27, 2004, President Bush signed HSPD-12 -- a policy for common identification standards for federal employees and civilian contractors. HSPD-12 directs the implementation of a standardized badging process designed to enhance security, reduce identity fraud, and protect the personal privacy of the federal workforce and civilian contractors.
