ImageWare Systems and Cross Match Technologies Collaborate on Next Generation ID Badges
SAN DIEGO, CA, May 10, 2002 - ImageWare Systems, Inc. (AMEX:IW) has partnered with Cross Match Technologies to produce biometric-based ID badges. Under the terms of this agreement, Cross Match will use ImageWare's EPIBUILDER™ software development solution to design, configure and print ID badges that capture real-time forensic quality fingerprints and demographic information. The ability to embed biometric measurements, like fingerprints, into these ID cards adds a second means of verification and greatly increases the security benefit each card provides.
ImageWare's EPIBUILDER software developer's kit (SDK) is an easy-to-use toolkit that allows developers to integrate ID badging into their software applications. In addition to the ability to design and print professional ID cards, the EPIBUILDER badging solution gives the end user advanced graphics capabilities including the ability to resize, crop and enhance digital images.
"ImageWare's EPIBUILDER SDK enables us to very quickly configure an ID card, capture fingerprint information and print cards," said Ted Johnson, Cross Match chief executive officer. "It is feature-rich and complete, allowing us to focus our efforts on biometrics to quickly produce a solution."
According to the terms of the partnership, ImageWare will realize a licensing fee with each CrossMatch system that incorporates the EPIBUILDER SDK software. "This partnership with Cross Match is a strategic combination of capabilities to continue to provide the market with innovative security technology solutions," said Jim Miller, ImageWare chief executive officer. "We will continue to conclude partnerships that are a good complement to our technology."
