ImageWare Takes Enterprise ID Management to the World Wide Web

EPI Enterprise™ 2.0 to debut at the 2002 ASIS International Tradeshow

SAN DIEGO, CA, September 10, 2002 - ImageWare Systems, Inc. (AMEX: IW) today announced the launch of its Web-based identification management software, EPI Enterprise™ 2.0. A truly comprehensive, Web-based solution, EPI Enterprise 2.0 enables organizations to control and manage ID card production, issuance and tracking for all branch offices from a single location.

"The Web truly takes the identification management process to the next level and provides government agencies, corporations, colleges-all organizations with multiple or remote locations-with the tools they need to effectively streamline the identification process, consolidate efforts and reduce related expenditures," said Jim Miller, ImageWare's chairman and CEO.

Additional capabilities of EPI Enterprise include the ability to connect or consolidate multiple, disparate ID-related databases that are housed in various branch offices into one. And costs related to ID card production can be billed back to various branch offices, divisions or third parties. In addition, EPI Enterprise is equipped with sophisticated tracking and auditing tools that can help reduce card misuse and simplify investigations. And EPI Enterprise is designed to map to an organizations' existing business, operational and security procedures.

On the issue of security and the Web, Miller stated, "Organizations implement identification systems to increase security, so it is important to note that including the Web into ID management, does not automatically exclude security. EPI Enterprise was built with SSL encryption, which is the same type of encryption used by banks."

EPI Enterprise 2.0 will be shown at the 2002 ASIS International Tradeshow from September 10-13 in booth #449 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.
