SAN DIEGO, CA, November 22, 1999 - ImageWare Systems, Inc. (AMEX:IW) a leader and innovator of digital imaging solutions for law enforcement, was recently awarded a contract to upgrade the existing digital mugshot system for King County Adult Detention (representing King County Law Safety and Justice Agencies), Washington. ImageWare's Crime Capture System® Version 2.0 (CCS2) will provide a Microsoft NT Server-based system for capturing digital mugshots and data for individuals being booked by the County, as well as employee ID cards (providing general identification, electronic building access, and employee bus passes). Upon completion of the installation, the new system will meet all NIST (National Institute of Standards and Testing) requirements, will be Y2K compliant, and will capture images in a standard jpg format. The installation includes eight CCS2 mugshot capture stations, and 100 investigative software licenses capable of searching the main database to create photo line-ups. The CCS2 system is designed to be scaleable, supporting the future enlargement of King County's stored images and data. "We chose to upgrade to Crime Capture System as it presented a permanent, cost effective, low risk solution," stated Tim Longley, Information Systems Manager, King County Department of Adult Detention. "This new, high performance imaging system has the ability to integrate with many current law enforcement applications, and supports the County's commitment to continue the development of a 'regional system' that may be utilized by law enforcement agencies from all interested cities and agencies." "King County desired to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of their electronic imaging, and identification systems," stated Jim Miller, Chairman and CEO of ImageWare. "By choosing CCS2, they will ensure a simple to use, functional, fast and reliable data storage and archive system."
