ImageWare Systems, Inc. Announces the Installation of Crime Web at Los Angeles
SAN DIEGO, CA, June 7, 2000 - ImageWare Systems, Inc. (AMEX:IW) announced today that it has installed Crime WebTM, its newly released, Web-based investigative software tool, at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Crime Web enables authorized personnel to access and search the County's booking records stored on ImageWare's Crime Capture System® (CCS) through a standard web browser from within the county's intranet.
Crime Web allows remote access to the CCS database without requiring the user to be physically connected to the County network. Crime Web requires only that the user have access to the internet and authorization to access the County intranet "The ImageWare product is a strong ally of LA County law enforcement," comments Lieutenant Greg Morgon, of the Los Angeles Sheriff's Records and Identification Bureau. "It provides every law enforcement agency in LA County access to our comprehensive database of mugshots through innovative web configuration and a well designed format. Our detectives have made productive use of the application which has had a significant role in recent high profile arrests of sexual predators."
Other ImageWare products currently used by the Los Angeles Sheriff"s Department include Face ID®, its facial recognition software tool, Suspect ID® its composite software tool, Crime Lab® its image editing software tool, and Vehicle ID® its vehicle identification software tool.
