ImageWare Systems Announces Contract with New York City Family Court Division
SAN DIEGO, CA, February 20, 2001 - ImageWare Systems, Inc. (AMEX:IW) today announced it has signed a contract with the Family Court Division (FCD) of the New York City Law Department to provide the agency with its Crime Capture System® (CCS) which generates digital databases of arrest records. The total value of the project is approximately $264,000 for hardware, software and services. The installation is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2001.
Jim Miller, ImageWare's chairman and chief executive officer, said, "The Crime Capture System (CCS) will be used to generate digital databases of arrest records for juvenile offenders for FCD's newly created Designated Felony Prosecution Unit. Additionally, CCS will print warrants, provide for on-line generation, printing and saving of photo arrays and booking photos based on retrieval characteristics; allow for intelligence gathering, especially regarding gang intelligence; and allow for storage, retrieval, and printing of crime-scene and intelligence photographs that are attached to booking records."
The initial system consists of four capture stations, five browser-based investigative seats, and two interconnects. Data will be retrieved via two interconnects: one to FCD's case tracking application and one to NYPD's on-line booking system.
