SAN DIEGO, CA, October 27, 2003 - ImageWare Systems, Inc. (AMEX: IW) today announced that the New Haven Police Department, Conn. has selected the Company’s Crime Capture System (CCS) to streamline their juvenile and adult booking as well as its investigative procedures. ImageWare will provide the New Haven Police Department with a complete digital booking, identification and investigative solution that will enable them to capture, store and retrieve criminal mug shots, images and data. “New Haven Police Department is committed to using advanced technology to support our mission of community based policing,” said New Haven Police Chief Francisco Ortiz Jr. “ImageWare will provide one of the necessary tools to help our officers reduce crime and improve community safety.” ImageWare’s CCS enables officers to capture images including mug shots, scars, marks and tattoos, in addition to related text information. This information can be retrieved to create photo lineups and mug books; generate wanted posters; print employee, visitor or inmate ID cards or wristbands; and more. Optional add-on modules enable users to search the database for potential suspects based on facial recognition technology and to access CCS data and images via the Web or wirelessly, via a mobile data terminal or PDA. “We were very impressed with ImageWare’s booking and investigative solutions,” said Lt. Joann Peterson of the New Haven Police Department. ”ImageWare’s CCS will enable our officers to streamline the booking and investigative processes thus allowing them to proactively serve our community to further prevent crime and resolve problems.” “We are pleased to be working with the New Haven Police Department,” said Joe Schuler, ImageWare’s senior vice president of sales and marketing. “ImageWare’s law enforcement solutions are not only focused on speeding investigations and streamlining the booking process. We also concentrate on sharing that critical information in real-time, within an agency or among multiple agencies to help solve and prevent crime as well as improve intelligence capabilities.”
