ImageWare Systems Awarded Contract from New Jersey State Police Department
SAN DIEGO, CA, July 5, 2000 - ImageWare Systems, Inc. (AMEX:IW) today announced that is has been selected to supply the State of New Jersey with an integrated digital mug shot system.
ImageWare’s Crime Capture System® has been selected to replace the state’s existing traditional photographic mug shot system and will be used to create digital arrest records for individuals being booked by the New Jersey State Police. Once created, these images can be shared statewide over the existing state network.
ImageWare will also provide the state with its Face ID® product which will allow state police to use facial recognition as a biometric identifier to compare photos or composite images against their database of arrest records to help identify both unknown suspects and individuals with multiple aliases.
