(AMEX: IW), a global provider of digital imaging, identification and biometric solutions, today announced that the New South Wales (NSW) Police, the largest law enforcement organization in Australia, has selected the Company to implement a browser-based investigative solution. ImageWare will also expand its current networked investigative systems at 40 NSW Police facilities. This contract was concluded through Intelligence and Strategic Processes Pty Ltd. (ISP), ImageWare’s authorized reseller located in Australia. “ImageWare is a leader in providing comprehensive technology solutions that enable law enforcement to replace time-consuming processes with digital solutions that speed investigations and enable the real-time data sharing,” commented ISP’s CEO, Peter Harrington. Under the terms of the agreement, ImageWare will provide a browser-based investigative solution with biometric capabilities that will enhance the ability of the NSW Police to identify suspects by creating photo lineups and mug books, as well as conducting facial recognition searches on mug shots stored in their current ImageWare booking solution—all via the secure police WAN / Intranet. NSW Police will also have the ability to view offender records in real-time and share that data throughout their remote facilities. “This agreement is a testament to the global appeal of ImageWare’s law enforcement technology solutions,” commented Jim Miller, ImageWare’s chairman and CEO. “ImageWare’s high performance identification and investigative solution, coupled with our biometric capabilities, provides a comprehensive solution to the law enforcement community which meets the growing demand to speed investigations, share critical information and give officers immediate, online access to crucial investigative tools.”
