ImageWare Systems Awarded Contract from San Antonio Police Department
SAN DIEGO, CA, February 14, 2000 - ImageWare Systems, Inc. (AMEX:IW) a leader and innovator of digital imaging solutions for law enforcement, was recently awarded a contract to supply the digital mugshot system for San Antonio Police Department, Texas. ImageWare's Crime Capture System® Version 2.0 (CCS2) was chosen through the competitive bid process and will be used to photograph individuals being booked into the San Antonio Police Department, as well as provide investigative capabilities.
The contract includes the licensing for ImageWare's patented software and the necessary hardware for installing 14 Capture Stations and 10 Investigative Stations throughout the San Antonio Police Department. Investigative capabilities will include database searching, photo line-up generation, and the ability to page through the digital "mugbook" photobase. In addition, San Antonio Police Department has licensed Face ID® facial recognition software. Face ID compares surveillance images or composite photos against the CCS2 database to help identify both unknown suspects and criminals with multiple aliases. Finally, the contract includes custom designed print formats that will allow the agency to output employee ID cards and inmate wristbands from the database.
