SAN DIEGO, CA, June 15, 2004 - ImageWare® Systems, Inc. (AMEX: IW), a leading global developer of digital imaging, identification and biometric software solutions, today announced that the Company has been selected to provide a bi-directional digital mugshot and booking solution for the Seaside Police Department in Seaside, Calif. to speed their booking and investigative procedures. This agreement was concluded through Northrop Grumman Public Safety, Inc. ImageWare was selected to provide the Seaside Police Department with its Crime Capture System® (CCS), a digital booking, identification and investigative software solution that enables law enforcement organizations to capture, store and retrieve criminal mugshots, related data and images including scars, marks and tattoos. In addition, ImageWare will develop a custom interface that will enable the Department to automatically share and populate booking information with their current Livescan and Records Management System (RMS). This will enhance their investigative procedures by allowing data automatically flow to and from these systems, making it available and accessible in real-time. “Our mission is to provide quality police services, in partnership with our community to enhance and maintain a safe environment,” said Capt. Steve Cercone of Seaside Police. “We believe ImageWare’s CCS will greatly enhance the efficiency of our booking procedures. In addition, our detectives will be able to quickly research and identify potential suspects as a result of this advanced technology.” ImageWare’s CCS also features add-on facial recognition and digital composite sketching modules to further speed investigative procedures by enabling law enforcement officials to easily create a digital suspect composite. Using state-of-the-art facial recognition technology, an agency can search for potential matches to this composite, as well as conduct searches from scanned and imported images. “ImageWare’s CCS delivers unparalleled capabilities that enable law enforcement organizations to transform, time-consuming procedures into simple, streamlined processes,” said Jim Miller, ImageWare’s chairman and CEO. “We are committed to helping the law enforcement community improve policing performance by developing and enhancing technology to ensure critical data is accessible in real-time and shared with officers in a more timely manner.”
