ImageWare to Create Over One Million National Driver's Licenses for Singapore
SAN DIEGO, CA, August 22, 2002 - ImageWare Systems, Inc. (AMEX: IW)
today announced that it has been selected by the Singapore Traffic Police Force to replace Singapore's current paper-based national driver's licenses with a plastic-based license. To date, there are over a million licenses that will need to be changed.
This agreement was concluded by Digital Imaging Asia Pacific, ImageWare's Singapore subsidiary.
To build Singapore's custom driver's license solution, ImageWare will use its EPIBUILDER™ product. EPIBUILDER is a flexible software solution that allows for creation of not only driver's licenses, but ID cards, visas, passports and other documents as well. Additional capabilities include the ability to exclude printing on certain regions of a card, adjust layouts for different printers and to blend the foreground and background of a card together, making unauthorized duplication increasingly difficult.
