ImageWare provides digital booking and mugshot system, facial recognition program, and lineup image enhancement tool SAN DIEGO, CA., July 14, 2003 - ImageWare Systems, Inc. (AMEX: IW) today announced that the Escondido Police Department, one of the largest police departments in San Diego County, has implemented a complete criminal investigative solution which includes ImageWare’s Crime Capture System® (CCS), an easy-to-use digital imaging solution for automated capture, storage, and retrieval of booking images and related information; Face ID™ facial recognition program; and Lineup Image Sync™, a CCS lineup enhancement tool to create consistent images and non-prejudicial photo lineups. “Our objective is to quickly and efficiently streamline our booking and investigative processes as well as electronically synchronize our adult and juvenile arrestee information,” said Lt. Tom Albergo of Escondido PD. “ImageWare’s CCS program is the ideal solution for Escondido PD.” Under the terms of the agreement, ImageWare has implemented CCS booking stations at both the adult and juvenile facilities; converted and imported all existing records; and created customized ARGIS templates for automatic field reporting. By using ImageWare’s CCS, the Escondido PD can easily capture arrestees’ photos and booking information from both the juvenile and adult facilities. This data is automatically transmitted into the main centralized CCS server, which allows officers to perform efficient investigative procedures such as searches, photo lineups and mugbooks. ImageWare’s Face ID enables the Department to quickly and accurately conduct facial recognition searches against their CCS mugshot database from a variety of sources, such as scanned photos, suspect composites, and video surveillance images. “We are pleased to be able to work with another local police department such as the Escondido PD,” said Lori Rodriguez, president of ImageWare’s Law Enforcement Division. “ImageWare continues to be the solution of choice for law enforcement agencies across the nation.”
