ImageWare offers Biometric Security Applications February 8, 2008 SAN DIEGO - Identity management applications company ImageWare Systems has introduced the IWS Mediator, a suite of multilingual translation and multimodal biometric applications for government, defense, border control, and public safety use. The IWS Mediator platform provides real-time multilingual translation, including two-way, speech-to-speech, voice analysis, and multimodal biometric capabilities. It also supports multilingual chat, distributed speech for MeshNet, and document exploitation. ImageWare said it enables users to communicate in their own language while allowing for verification and identification through multi-modal biometrics, including voice, face, iris, fingerprint, common access card, and personal identity verification. Jim Miller, chairman and chief executive at ImageWare, said IWS Mediator uses technology acquired when the company bought real-time voice recognition and language translation technology company Sol Logic for $3.2m in December 2007. "Leveraging the technology we acquired from Sol Logic, the Mediator suite of products fills a void for the intelligence, defense, public safety, and border control markets we serve," he said. He said it continues the company's approach of using vendor-neutral, agnostic platforms, and enables integration with the IWS Biometric Engine. "We have further differentiated ImageWare's offerings by adding language translation, voice recognition, and communications capabilities," said Miller. . |
