ImageWare Systems awarded $900,000 contract from Raytheon March 29, 2006 Defense technology developer Raytheon has awarded biometric security and identity management firm ImageWare Systems Inc. a $900,000 contract for its Biometric Engine Border Management technology that supports land, air, and sea ports utilizing several biometrics, including face, finger, live-scan fingerprint and iris. San Diego, CA - ImageWare Systems, Inc., a leading developer and provider of identity management solutions, today announced that the company has been awarded a $900K contract from Raytheon Company for its IWS™ Biometric Engine® Border Management solution. The IWS™ Biometric Engine® Border Management product supports land, air and sea ports and utilizes biometrics including face, single finger, Livescan fingerprint and iris, during the enrollment and identification processing at border crossings. "ImageWare has developed technology and products that will enhance global security measures and ensure citizen safety," said Jim Miller, ImageWare's chairman and CEO. Searches can be 1:1 (verification), 1:N (identification), X:N (investigative) and N:N (enrollment integrity). IWS™ Biometric Engine® Border Management, coupled with the Biometric Engine Image Quality and Enhancement product, improves the accuracy and effectiveness of biometrics, increasing the biometric performance, and maintaining database and image integrity.
