Compatible Hardware
NOTE: All Compatible Hardware
testing has been performed on 32-bit operating systems unless indicated
otherwise.
This site details the results of ImageWare's hardware compatibility testing. These results are not intended as an endorsement or recommendation of a specific unit, but rather as an impartial report on how a unit operates with ImageWare's EPI Suite and/or EPI Builder product line.
It is recommended that you review all the information accessible from this page to determine if you can use the unit for your specific purposes.
Note regarding the legend:
A unit recorded as "compatible" may have negligible issues that do not affect a majority of clients but may impact your specific installation. Similarly, problems associated with a unit that has a "Note" status may be used if you are not planning to use the specific feature that has been noted.

Usage notes:
- The resolution can only be changed using the supplied SDK "VB sample" program. Note: The settings are remembered between acquisition sessions.
- Since the acquisition window on the device is a square, the maximum usable area is 480 * 480 pixels.
- Increasing the resolution has the effect of "Zooming" the aquired image.
- Do not attach the device to the PC before the software drivers have been installed
- You will receive a warning message about a "Surprise removal" when connecting the device to the USB port. This is a know issue with MS Windows 2000. Click Ok and the device can be used.

Usage notes:
- Board initialisation is done through IdsDemo application. Twain driver is identified as Falcon/Eagle frame grabber in list of available image source.
- The board doesn't support the 16 million colour display, you must use True colors in the Windows Control panel color diplay setting.
- Both live video and captured images have poor colour and image quality.

Usage notes:
- The first time you call the twain driver after installation it takes about 15-20 seconds for the "Unsupported Camera Type, using CCIR default!" message to appear. Then you have to click twice on that message and the interface comes up. The next time you call the driver it appears almost instantly.
- Once in the dialog, you have to click on the "Video Norm" tab. Then you have to select "NTSC" in Color Norm and afterwards select "Y/C input" or the appropriate setting for the camera being used. Even if you enable the "Save Setting" option, the next time you use the driver you will have to reselect the settings that just described. An alternate method is to save the settings from the Intellicam Software to a *.DCF file that you load from the twain interface by clicking on Other
and browsing to that *.DCF file, but this procedure takes longer than reselecting the settings.
