Data Breaches Are Costing Enterprises Millions

New data breaches cause CEOs to be fired and businesses to suffer existential losses. It’s critical that every CEO of companies, large and small, understand information security.

The average cost of a data breach in the U.S. is over $7 million. 77% of businesses reported a data breach in the last 12 months, and the estimates worldwide of total data lost to cybercrimes range from the high hundreds of billions to over a trillion dollars.

The 2018 Cost of Data Breach Study, sponsored by IBM Security, found that the average cost for each lost record rose from $141 to $148, an increase of nearly 5 percent.

The average cost of a breach involving 1 million records was nearly $40 million dollars and the cost of a breach totaling 50 million records was estimated to be $350 million.

In the last few years, Anthem, Target, JP Morgan Chase, Equifax, Blue Cross, Experian, United Airlines and the IRS were just some of the organizations victimized by high visibility hacks. A total of nearly 10 Billion records have been stolen since 2013.

Secure Your Enterprise Data with ImageWare Systems’ 2FA, Biometrics, and Multi-factor Authentication (MFA)

GoVerifyID provides two-factor (2FA) and multi-factor biometric user authentication across all platforms, including Apple iOS, Android, PCs, and other systems. Organizations and users can select the 2FA methods of their choice including phone-as-a-token, secure push notification (e.g., yes/no), and PIN; as well as the biometrics of their choice, such as face, voice, fingerprint, iris, and palm. Biometric matching can be performed on-device, in the cloud, or on your own servers.

GoVerifyID Enterprise Suite provides seamless integration with nearly all security infrastructure commonly used in all industries. This includes certified integrations with products from Microsoft, CA, IBM, Oracle, SAP, ForgeRock, and HPE.

GoVerifyID Enterprise Use Cases

Many use cases exist for adding 2FA, Biometrics, and Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) to business processes within enterprises, the retail industry, the banking industry, and in healthcare organizations. Some of the most obvious use cases are described below. Using GoVerifyID is beneficial any time you need assurance of the identity of the person accessing a system or making a transaction.

Application Access (Direct application login or using Single Sign-On systems)

  • Includes applications that are hosted on-premises or in the Cloud.
  • Often provided in conjunction with a Single Sign-On (SSO) product (e.g. CA Single Sign-On, OneLogin, etc.).

Mobile Device Application and Data Security

  • Includes securing access to mobile apps and corporate data accessed from mobile devices.
  • Provided in conjunction with a mobile device management product (e.g. MobileIron, Good Technologies, Citrix XenMobile, etc.).

Password Reset

  • Includes using GoVerifyID to authenticate a user before they can reset their password.
  • Generally provided in conjunction with a password reset vendor (e.g. Avatier, Courion, etc.).

Corporate Network Access

  • Includes securing access to corporate networks and data using VPN, Firewalls, etc. (e.g. Aruba, Cisco AnyConnect, F5 Networks, etc.).
  • Can replace or supplement token devices, such as RSA SecureID and other products.

Enterprise Data Security

  • Includes securing access to cloud or hybrid corporate data storage systems (e.g. Box, DropBox, etc.).
  • Recommend using enterprise hybrid storage solutions, like Extenua Cloud2Drive, to provide enterprise security with convenience.

Cloud Access

  • Login access to public cloud systems, such as AWS, Azure, Force.com, etc.
  • These cloud services provide SAML or other interfaces that can be used with GoVerifyID.

Password Manager Products

  • Products that securely store all your passwords in a software vault for access to all your devices.
  • The security of the password manager product itself is critical since it stores all your other passwords.
  • Adding GoVerifyID for multi-modal biometric identity authentication to these products is very beneficial. 8 GPS and Logistic System Integration
  • When a vehicle or person must be located via GPS, such as in Logistics and Mobile Health applications.
  • The GoVerifyID multi-modal biometric identity authentication can provide assurance of the user’s identity for these types of applications.

Features Include:

  • Multi-modal 2FA and biometric (face, voice, palm, fingerprint) multi-factor authentication centrally managed at the server via the Microsoft Management Console
  • Secure high-value network endpoints and all network resources (servers, files, applications, databases, data, and devices)
  • Integration with Active Directory for increased security using existing Microsoft security infrastructure
  • Integration with Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) to provide increased security for applications in the Microsoft Cloud (Azure, Office-365, Exchange Online) with SSO convenience
  • Biometric enrollment and authentication for unlimited populations
  • Seamless movement between Windows-based websites with Active Directory credentialing
  • Flexibility to set biometric authentication to govern security requirements
  • Integration with standard MS domain administration
